Get Signs from Your Ancestors Today- I'll Show You How
Start a Connection with Your Loved Ones Behind the Veil
As I was swaying in the crowd, I felt a shiver up my spine.
A sign from Spirit that something important was coming, and that I needed to pay attention.
Last Thursday, I was at Rec Room in downtown Buffalo to see my husband Sal’s band, GattoBlack, play a show. Sal’s set was incredible (as always), and while I was waiting for him to pack up his things, two musicians with horns took the stage, and I knew what Spirit was nudging me about.
Two years ago, I lost Andrew, one of my dear friends, to a drug addiction.
While Andrew and I fell out towards the end of his life, when I was younger, he was one of my best friends. He lived on the street behind me, and before either of us could drive, we used to bike through the neighborhood together.
We used to ‘commute’ together from Walton Drive to Westfield Street to hang out with our friends. Andrew always made us leave promptly at 4:30 p.m. so he had time to get home and watch Seinfeld at 5 p.m.
Andrew sends me signs occasionally. Whenever I see an Impala drive by, I’m reminded of when he used to pick me up to drive us to work. He got me my first job at Loughran’s, a local pub, washing dishes and stacking cod for Fish Fry Fridays.
Watching these two guys in Rec Room bring their horns on stage brought tears to my eyes. I don’t think I’ve heard a saxophone since Andrew’s death.
On Wednesdays in college, our group of friends used to brave the snow and go to Staple’s in Allentown for open mic night. Andrew would play his saxophone, and we’d listen to Vinnie DeRosa do Amy Winehouse covers.
When the second band started to play, I felt Andrew swaying near to me. And then a flurry of dust particles fell down over the crowd. It looked like a confetti of sparkling stars, and I knew it was another sign from Andrew confirming he was here with me.
I let the special presence of the moment wash over me, as I took a few deep breathes and thanked him for being here with me.
When I do readings with clients, I always try to share with them the signs they are receiving from their ancestors that they might not be aware of because most of the time, we don’t even notice the signs right in front of us.
It takes time to not only develop an eye to recognize them, but to TRUST that the message we are getting is real.
In my intuitive workshops—or Magick Lessons—the first thing I suggest to people starting out on their ‘sign’ journey is to write a list of things that remind you of the person you want to connect with.
Signs can be anything and everything associated with that person. Here are some examples:
Their favorite song
The make/model of their car
The type of pet they had
A smell you associate with them
Their favorite color
Their favorite cocktail/movie/actor/candy bar — be specific!
Anything they loved or made them unique.
Now, write out a list on paper of things that reminds you of the person you want to connect with. Once you are done with your list, say a few words to that person (out loud or in your mind) and ask them to send you a sign from your list.
Now—here is the hard part! When you see the sign, you are going to dismiss it as a coincidence.
THAT IS NORMAL.
Our human brains are quite skeptical about the mystic landscape of the Universe. EVEN if you think the sign isn’t “for you,” say these two things:
Hello, to the person sending it to you (out loud or in your mind).
Thank you!
It takes time, faith, and belief to trust the signs you are seeing are for you.
As someone who’s been working with and using signs for three years pretty religiously, I still get tripped up by the impeccable timing and otherworldly effectiveness of our ancestors. It’s awe-inducing—but that’s the point!
