The idea that you can conjure, that you can create, and also the controversy that's part of it.
The idea that you are operating outside of tradition, outside of patriarchy, outside of the confines of what a woman is supposed to be.
I love that about the word witch.

Happy Halloween, friends!
Today the veil between the Spirit world and ours is at its thinnest. It’s the perfect time to connect with ancestors, burn away old narratives that no longer serve you, and dip into a little magick.
I couldn’t think of a better topic to share with you ‘Under the Moon Gate’ than the mystery of tarot (one of my favorite spiritual practices) with special guest Atima Lui. Atima is a tarot reader, witch, and educator who specializes in teaching Black people how to connect to their higher power and gain personal liberation by reading tarot.
During our conversation Atima and I talk about the basic principals of tarot, how it’s popularity grew despite of being born at the same time as one of the world’s most conservative religions, and how white folks can support spiritual reparations.
Plus, Atima and I take listener questions and pull tarot cards about whether or not a listener will find love, if moving out of LA is the right move, and why sometimes we need to sit out the storm to receive the blessings from the sun.
May this day and night greet you with mystery and magick, Happy Beltane!
