The Patron Saint of Sourdough Bread with Sister Joan Brown

A conversation about Catholic ceremonies, the role of women in the Church, and of course witches!

While working on my new documentary The Resurrection of the Witch (in production now) I’ve had some wonderful conversations about women, power, and spirituality.

Someone who has been helping me define the themes in the film is Patrick Carolan, a Catholic climate change activist. The two of us are connecting with a number of inspiring folks from around the world to hear their stories, and dive deeper in the mystery of the witch and her place in culture. So we decided it might be fun to share those conversations with you in new segment Under the Moon Gate called “Witch Talk.”

Please enjoy our first episode with special guest Sister Joan Brown on the role of ceremonies in spiritual healing, how women in the church don’t need to wait for power, and Sister Joan’s definition of the word witch (which might surprise you).
